The great Wednesday of the year

That's right folks, this year is now decending down the hill. Second semester has begun. My grad classes are back in full swing. Life is back in the honeymood period (and it will last at least three days). We rearranged our student groupings so that they are with similar abilities. Yes, we are defing the national push toward inclusion in favor of homogeneous groupings. And so far I'm in heaven. Perhaps my two lower groups will be more of a struggle, but we can struggle as a class. My highest level class...well let me give you an example: Today we did a whole class K-W chart on early American history. (K=what you already know, W=what you want to know) My earlier classes came up with things like "slavery" and "rosa parks." I kid you not my advanced class had responses such as "What was the culture of the American Indians like before people started killing them?" "Why did Abraham Lincoln get assassinated?" "I know about Sacagewea but I would like to know about Lewis and Clark." "I know the Indians were killed and all that but they are not entirely innocent." "Why don't people care that slavery still exists today, like in sweatshops?"

I had to leave my room because I didn't want them to see the stupid, giddy smile on my face.

I'm sure it will quickly go downhill but let's not focus on that until it happens.

Ok, just joking, glad to hear your life has been a bit sunnier, sounds like at least a third of the time you'll be able to stretch the old cerebellum.
