Ups and Downs

I think what is so difficult about this job right now is you never know how it's going to be. You have no indication until you get to work if the children are going to be crazy or wonderful. And even then it varies class to class. Today my first period was the worst class period of second semester, but then second and third period were almost angels. So much of it seems out of my power, I'd rather be a proactive teacher than a reactive one.

Oh well. I have a devil may care attitude most of the time now and thankfully I'm using my precious free time to learn how to cook and reach a few books (and occasionally meet with some people to talk about them, shhhhhh) So that's been really nice and something I've wanted to do for a while. The next few weeks are going to be a little crazy with state testing in school and a ginormous load of Hopkins work to accomplish. But then it'll be spring break. ...not too far off now...

Hey Teodio-
That IS the hardest part. You can never predict how they're going to be, even if you see them every day.
