Covert Operations

There has been a recent influx of side buisness at my school. Not by the students, by the teachers. It has come to my attention that they are buying consumable items and selling them to the children to make a profit. In October I got repremanded for giving fun size snickers bars as a reward, now it is a money-making operation for other teachers. Unfair? Perhaps, but it also shows the general downward slope of ideals.

My relatively tame second period class is about to become the ugly. The teacher who taught the worst of the worst just quit and now they need to spread some of his students around. So what is happening - I am getting about 15 godawful hellions for the rest of the year. And there is no more fooling myself that the end is right around the corner, it is nine headexploding weeks away.

One of my favorite (as in oh-my-god-are-you-serious) parts of teaching the Constituion is when I have to say "No, no amendements are not the same as commandments" when someone asks "Where is the one about not killing people?" Just like back in the beginning of the year when it was "Leonardo DiVinci is not the same as Leonardo DiCaprio"

Two most annoying things to teach 8th graders - protest and freedom of speech. They apply it to everything.
