Fires in the Bathroom

...is the name of a book that I've been dying to read - written by innercity high school students to their teachers. As a nice tie in I stole one of Sid's pictures of one of our school fires (not the big one).

So...do I miss it? No, not at all. (Except for my little clown - you all know who I am talking about. Who would have ever thought I would have had such an obvious favorite student?) Yet I do not dread going back. I am looking forward to giving it another shot. I am also looking forward to finishing my master's and looking for other jobs...but that's another story.

Seeing as I have taken a sufficient mental break from being a teacher I do plan on posting on a regular basis again. (It's okay, cheers are not necessary) And maybe I'll get some more photos up for your viewing pleasure. Next week I am off to Rhode Island for a teaching conference. Woohoo.
