Along with many other new teachers, I chose to enter a district that is tumultuous, at best. While I realize that there are a few teachers who abuse the system, I do not believe I should be generalized as a member of that group. So, in reference to Superintendent James Williams' statement in the Jan. 30 News that, "tenure now is accomplished in New York by sitting in a seat for three years," I would like to invite him to spend a week with me and to catalog how much I sit.
