It's almost a list post!

And it's definitely something I would have written in my livejournal back in the day. I really should reinstate some mandatory internet posted self reflection, but then I'll go back and read things I wrote freshman year of college and realize how much I've regressed since then. This is the first year since high school that I didn't have a minute by minute plan for spring break. Not surprisingly, this one turned out to be one of the finest (although also one of the most expensive). But also much more reckless than "go immerse yourself in poverty" or "go spend time with your family" spring breaks of my past. For all my stalkers (stalker count: zero - but a girl can dream) here is a breakdown of the last twelve days of bliss:

Wednesday - Andy arrives from out of town and we eat a giant mass of crabs and shrimp. We also go to two bars to watch the Bulls game and inadvertently run into a mass of city teachers also gearing up for the last day.

Thursday - Last day of work. Andy goes to school with me and keeps detailed log of daily events. He insists he will type this up, but I have nothing as of yet. Thursday night I behave in a mature, adult fashion that begins with hockey bar, continues to trivia night, proceeds to local area bars and ends with liver destroying behavior that I shouldn't post about because I think my dad still reads this. Hi Dad!

Friday - BUY NEW WONDERFUL MACBOOK.

Saturday - Capitals game. Which was entertaining, no doubt, but the sheer volume of Sabres fans was definitely the highlight of the day. Guinness for breakfast at Irish pub filled with chanting Sabres' fans. During the game my friend who will have his PhD by the age of 25 picks his nose on the jumbo tron and then gets phone calls from people at home indicating that aforementioned juvenile and hilarious behavior was broadcast on national television. Later my sister yells profanities at a six year old. Accidentally, but still so awesome. Then sister's awesome friends cook amazing food and I realize how many skills I lack.

Sunday - Easter. Church. Ham. Hot Yoga. Very traditional.

Monday - Long, freezing O's game. See approximately 1.5 innings despite being downtown for about nine hours. Also ride the light rail and don't understand why I don't utilize it more often.

Tuesday - Do nothing. Literally. Although it was relaxing it is another reminder of my complete inability to handle idle time. Must always be frantically busy. Much happier that way.

Wednesday - Go out to lunch. Go out to volunteer fair.

Thursday - GO TO DC BUFF BACKERS BAR TO WATCH HOCKEY DOMINATION. Love life. Love Buffalo. "Who would you like to see end up opposite the Sabres in the cup?" "Uh, ideally? The Cincinnati Bengals."

Friday - Go see surprisingly good German film. But don't ask me about it because I'll keep saying Berlin when I mean Germany. Lives of Others. Worth your time. Also eat with old (relative to time in Baltimore) friend. Watch non-Sabres hockey.

Saturday - Hang out with potential roommate. Awesome. Go out with girl friend to a series of very classy bars. Friend meets someone from volunteer fair (smallest.city.ever I swear) and love connection begins. Dance a little bit. Get made fun of for being so young. Hilariously unnecessary eleven dollar cab ride to go three blocks. Realize there is a section of Baltimore nightlife I can get used to. Enjoyable all around. Except maybe running through the torrential rains.

Sunday - Expand social activities repertoire by going to local small theater. Come home. Try to keep positive attitude about going back to work. Nine weeks until summer. Time to roll.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TEACHING.
